There’s a lot of outdated information online about EV charger grants, so here’s where things stand as of 2026:

Renters and flat owners can claim up to £500 per socket (75% of installation costs) via the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant — increased from £350 in April 2026.
Landlords can claim the same £500 per socket for tenants, for up to 200 sockets across their properties.
Businesses can claim up to £500 per socket through the Workplace Charging Scheme, for up to 40 sockets.
Homeowners with a driveway (detached/semi-detached houses) are not eligible for a home grant — this was removed in April 2022. This is one of the most common misconceptions we hear from Cardiff customers.
Funding for these schemes currently runs until 31 March 2027, and your charger must not be installed before OZEV confirms your eligibility.
