Does an older Cardiff house automatically need rewiring?

No. The age of the building does not by itself determine the condition of its electrics. A Victorian house may have been fully rewired recently, while a much newer property could contain poor alterations, damaged accessories or circuits no longer suitable for how the household uses electricity.

The installation’s age, cable types, protective devices, earthing and bonding, test results, alterations and present-day demands all matter. An older fuse box or lack of the latest features does not automatically make an installation unsafe; inspection and testing are needed to establish its condition.
